With brand DNA rooted in waterproof durability, the HERO8 and MAX cameras were deserving of etherial imagery to promote Fall 2019’s flagship camera lineup.
As lead art director on the project, I led cross-functional collaboration with photo, product, localization and operations teams. Developing the creative look and feel which rolled out globally in Fall 2019.
Woven through the pillars and stairs of Grand Central Station, carefully chosen imagery and product graphics immersed the viewer in stories of travel to distant places for this subway station takeover. Every placement was unique, creating over 180 graphics for installation.
Some miscellaneous logos and marks. Always a heavy focus on one and two color wordmarks or icons for easy reproduction.
From product logos to team branding, various logos from GoPro’s lineage were developed with direct input from the CEO and head of design.
Working closely with sports marketing teams, I designed cost-effective packaging options for event kits. Both of these items had to endure global shipping, so special care was taken to provide protection for the product.
A two color foil stamp on a matte black stock kept it in line with VIP status, as well as create a custom experience for the recipient.
Moonlighting on the advertising team, I designed some campaign-specific print ads for publications such as Surfer’s Journal, NZ Waterman and Lonely Planet.
At various points in my career I have worked on t-shirt illustrations for many friends and businesses. Shown here are a variety of screen printed graphics that have found their way out into the world.
In 2010 I founded Albany Shirt Shop, LLC. It was a small independent screen printing operation which I ran in Albany, NY. I learned the craft craft of screen printing, and it’s been a personal passion of mine throughout my life.
Relying heavily on retail partners and specialty shops is a huge part of GoPro’s business. Those dedicated business owners and employees live and breath the products they sell. Much like GoPro content creators.
Leveraging a wide range of lifestyle imagery, these retail event posters were used around the country to offer exclusive product bundles at special retail event activations.
Partnering closely with Vail Valley Foundation, GoPro host’s its annual Mountain Games festival in beautiful Vail, Colorado.
Developed everything from the illustration style, large format placements, supplementary booth graphics, way-finding and venue signage.
Leading creative direction for resorts at GoPro, we worked closely with a large network of retailers, sports marketing agents and on-site resort management to tailor artwork for their visitors.
Ski resorts, wave pools, specialty adventure zones in Europe and various other properties all fed into the GoPro brand and kept our products and services top of mind for guests.
Retail was core to GoPro’s business. The brand was built upon the success of the action camera giant in small surf shops across the nation. As the brand grew, out-of-home treatments became more intricate and grand in scale.
Being a hands on creative, I let the team of designers to help realize GoPro’s presence at retail across several product launches. Shown here are selects from HERO10 Black and HERO11 Black launches.
Leveraging packaging visuals we worked with retail and POP teams to develop dummy camera boxes which would replace physical product in high-theft areas.
